Japan's Nikkei average lost 0.83% on Thursday morning. It happens because the investors sold property firms and other gainers due to concern that their share prices had risen too quickly during the benchmark's recent run to 16,000. Technology firms Alps Electric Co. Ltd. and TDK Corp. were crushed by concern that a U.S. takeover could mean them losing their biggest client. The Nikkei briefly topped 16,000 on Wednesday for the first time in five years. However, while such concerns weighed on shares in property firms, they provided an opportunity to buy Sony Corp. and other stocks. At the end of the morning the Nikkei down 132.10 points at 15,825.47. The TOPIX index was down 0.49% at 1,628.36. The real estate sector was the first-rate percentage loser of the morning. It dropped 2.49% after putting on 11.7% in the previous two sessions. Mitsui Fudosan Co. Ltd. gave up 2.6% to 2,240 yen and Mitsubishi Estate Co. Ltd. lost 4.2% to 2,290 yen.
